Preservation Interest Group: Library Security

Library security is all about protecting patrons, property, and valued collections. The first course of action is the development of policies and procedures and implementing them into the daily work of your organization. Guest speaker Sarah Schmidt, Director of Special Collections & Archives, Union College, will lead the discussion. Sarah has over twenty years of experience working in large academic libraries and is a current member of the Rare Books and Manuscript Section of the American Library Association’s Security Committee.   Sarah will be joined by Mark Barker, Director of Security and Facilities Services at Duke University Libraries.
